Joe is a CPA and also an Investment Advisor where he completed both the
series 7 and 66 exams and holds an insurance license. Many of Joe's clients have been with
him for over 27 years.
Joe is a member of Sunnyvale First Baptist church where he serves on the
Safety Ministry and is a part time Sunday School teacher.
Married to Joyce for 52 years, four grown children, five grandchildren,
and one great grandchild.
Certified Public Accountant, qualified in the areas of accounting,
tax, audit, financial planning, consulting, and the internet.
Worked for a fortune 500 company for 16 years as an assistant to the President of the
Holding company with management and supervisory responsibilities in the area of finance,
credit and purchasing. Also served as president of the credit union which was a
multimillion dollar credit union and as a member of the personnel policy committee of
the company which had the responsibility to set salaries ranges and job descriptions for
over 5,000 employees and on occasion was called to testify as a witness for the company on
union matters.
Over the last twenty years handled many IRS audits and other cases.
In two different cases getting reductions of tax assessments of over $100,000.
- Worked for three years as a management consultant to an insurance company during a
period of consolidation of operations in Texas.

- Served as co-chairman of the Dallas Chapter of CPAs"Helping Schools Committee"
reviewing hundreds of children's essays, art works and
coordinated the recognition program for teachers, administrators and
school volunteers.

- Served as a volunteer grant application reviewer for the Texas Education Agency for
the goals 2000 program. This program's goal was to bring all students up to
grade level reading by the time they reach the third grade by the year 2000.

- Served on the Dallas Chapter of CPAs accumulation committee. A program that gives
high school juniors a weeks orientation on campus about the accounting profession between
their junior and senior year and awards five to six scholarships yearly.

- Served on the Dallas Chapter of CPAs Banking Relations committee.

- Served on the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce "Taste & Trade Committee"
An annual event that brings together restaurants, business and the people of
Mesquite for a great time. Also serve on numerous other Chamber committees.

- Served on the Mesquite City Council for two years from 1987 through 1989.

- Twice served as President of the Mesquite Republican Club.

- Served as a Republican Prescient Chairman and election judge from many years.

- Served in the Texas Air National Guard for 20 years and then the the Texas State
Guard for over 21 years. Joe is a Lt. Colonel and the Assistant Inspector General for the
State Guard in Texas working out of Camp Mabry in Austin. Joe's main responsibility has to
do with oversight and investigations of unit special fund problems.

- Joe has received many awards and decorations for his volunteer work. Some of his
awards were: being recognized as Mesquite Chamber of Commerce member of the month,
receiving the Exceptional Educator Award from the Board of Christian Education.

- Joe's military decorations included two Adjutant Generals Individual
awards, two Presidential Unit Citations and two Air Force outstanding unit awards, the
Travis award for outstanding service to the State Guard, the Achievement award from the
State Defense Forces of the U.S. and many other service ribbons.
- Joe graduated from the University of Arlington with a Bachelor of Business
Administration in Accounting. In additional Joe completed 30 hours of advanced
graduate work at SMU. Joe was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity
degree from Trinity Theological Seminar.

- Joe is now or has been a member of the Friends of The Mesquite Library, Historic
Mesquite Inc., The Mesquite Arts Council, The Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, The
National Museum of Funeral Service. AMVETS, and is a life member of : The National Guard
Association of Texas (2nd Miler), The Texas State Guard Association, The State defense
Forces of the United States and The Texas Military Forces Museum.
